This Thursday I’m thankful for business trips – mostly because it’s the only way I’m getting to travel these days. Since I’ve been working  at my current position, I’ve taken my first flights and I’ve travelled to Denver, CO (I think I’m in love with this city) and Washington, DC to participate in large public health conferences.

My latest business-trip adventure was to beautiful Miami, FL to attend the Let’s Talk about Sex conference held by SisterSong. The conference was amazing and began with a moving speech by Dr. Joycelyn Elders, the first African American appointed as Surgeon General of the United States, who is an amazing woman. Here is a fuzzy photo of her:

I even got to spend some time time on the beautiful beach:

Overall, I had a great time and it almost didn’t even feel like a business trip! I’d love to hear about your good business travel experiences, as well. Feel free to post some good stories in the comments.
